Who we are
Weston Education Trust (“Trust”) is a charitable Trust (registered charity 310193) that makes grants to support education, training and related experience and equipment in Weston-super-Mare. It is administered by the trustees and operates this website http://www.westoneducationtrust.org.uk/. The data controller for the Trust decides how your personal data is processed and for what purposes.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
We do not collect or allow comments on this website and as such, no personal information is stored or processed in relation to comments.
Media
Visitors to the website are not able to post media and as such no personal information is stored or processed in relation to media on the website.
If you are successful with your funding application, we may in future ask for your permission to use an image of you on our website or promotional material – this will only be done with your consent which you may withdraw at any time in accordance with your rights under GDPR legislation.
Contact form
Communications sent via the online contact form are stored in the website database and sent as an email to the Trust data controller. This is done under the lawful basis of consent which you will have given before submitting the contact form.
Funding application form
Information submitted on the funding application form is stored in the website database and sent, as an email, to both the Trust data controller and the submitter. This is done under the lawful basis of consent which you will have given before submitting the funding application form.
Funding application form data is necessarily stored and processed in order for the Trust to assess and administer grants effectively.
Cookies
“Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. We use cookies across our sites to help identify and track visitors. Visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using our website, with the drawback that certain features may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
Analytics
We do not currently track your site usage or any personal information through the use of analytic technologies.
Who we share your data with
We do not share any of the personal information we gather, or that you supply, with any 3rd party for any reason and will not do so unless compelled to by law. Such circumstances might include safeguarding, prevention and detection of crime, terrorism and legal proceedings.
How long we retain your data
Contact form data
Contact form data will be stored for the period of 6 months from the submission date. This retention period allows for referencing your original communication in any ongoing or short-term future discussions.
Funding application data
Personal data included as part of the Funding Application will be stored for a period of 2 years from the date of submission. This period of time is for us to adequately administer the Trust and its funds. After 2 years, the funding application data will be anonymised – that is, any personal information will be redacted but non-personal information will be retained in order for the Trust to track trends, formulate targeting strategies and administer the Trust effectively in the medium to long term.
What rights you have over your data
You may instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold about you. Provision of such information will be subject to the supply of appropriate evidence of your identity.
In some circumstances you may also have the right to:
– Request that we erase any personal data held about you;
– Restrict our processing of your personal data (for example to ask to suspend the processing of personal information to establish its accuracy or the reasons for processing it);
– Withdraw your previously given consent to the processing your personal data;
– Data portability (i.e. to request the transfer of personal data to a third party); and
– Object to our processing of your personal data.
Requests in respect of the above should be made in writing to the Weston Education Trust at Weston Education Trust, 14 Woodhurst Road, Weston-Super-Mare, BS23 3JR. Please contact us at the same address if you have any reason to believe that information we hold about you is inaccurate. We will aim to respond to your request within one month from the date of receiving the request. Please note that we may, where legally permitted, reject any such request or limit the scope of our response (for example if, in the circumstances, the right does not apply to you).
You will not generally have to pay a fee to exercise any of your rights described above. However, we may charge a reasonable fee if you make a request to see a copy of your personal information which is clearly unfounded or excessive. Alternatively, we may refuse to comply with your request in such circumstances. We may also charge a reasonable fee if you request further copies of the data following a request. The fee will be based on the administrative costs of providing further copies.
If you have concerns about how we use your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
